1. To make sure we're on the same page when you apply, we require that you read our Adoption Guideline page and take some time to browse through our website. This will give you a better idea of what to expect.
   
   
2. Fill out and submit our adoption application. Please note that we actually encourage adopting 3 or more rats at once. They always bond very well and are happier in a trio. However, we do adopt in pairs and we never adopt out single rats. Our current wait list is at least one year long.
   
   
3. We will contact you via e-mail to confirm your application. If everything checks out, you will be added to our wait list.
   
   
4. Our web page and Facebook page will be updated with news and photos, so please check often. We do encourage people on our wait list to keep an eye on them for updates.
   
   
5. Once the babies are almost 6 weeks old (8-9 weeks for color point babies), we will contact you to confirm your reservation. If we don't receive a reply via e-mail within 48 hours, we will move to the next person on the list.
   
   
6. Please note that a 50% non-refundable deposit and a photo of the cage setup is required to reserve your babies. See our adoption fees below for more information. Payment is not due until I contact you for reservations. We will arrange an adoption day once both the photo and deposit are received.
   
   
7. You will be provided with a copy of the adoption contract, which must be signed on adoption day. Please be sure to bring your own travel cage and the remaining 50% payment.
